Artist's Description

Common Chicory (also called Blue Daisy, Blue Dandelion, Blue Sailors, and Wild Bachelor’s Buttons) is native to Europe, was introduced to North America by settlers and has since naturalized. It blooms in mid to late summer and is often found growing along the roadside, in meadows and in scrub land. It is a hardy plant that can tolerate very poor soil. Chicory is NOT that common in southern New Brunswick. This is the first sighting I’ve seen in my local area. Hampton, New Brunswick, Canada. Captured on a Canon EOS Rebel T3i with an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens.
