Artist's Description

Elecampane (also called Horse-heal and Elfdock) is native to Europe and Asia. However, it was introduced to North America some time ago and has since naturalized there. It is very uncommon in southern New Brunswick. In all my extensive travels I have only seen it growing in 3 places – all 3 times it was growing on the side of the road in poor soil and full sun. Elecampane blooms in August, likes full sun and well drained soil. Hampton, New Brunswick, Canada. Captured on a Canon EOS Rebel T3i with an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens
