Artist's Description

Quaco Head has had 3 lighthouses since 1835. The first was built on rocks far out in the water. It burnt to the ground in 1881. A second lighthouse was built and operational by 1883 but it was built 366 meters (400 yards) from the original lighthouse because of extensive erosion to the sandstone cliffs at Quaco Head. The foundation you see in the foreground of this shot is part of the ‘second’ lighthouse. A third lighthouse was then built a distance from the second in 1966. You can see it in the background. West Quaco, New Brunswick, Canada. Captured on a CASIO EX-ZS150
