The Single Act

The lights shut down,
The doors snap shut.
Secluded in total and complete blackness,
I lean on the corner of the wall,
Dependent on its stability, as I seep down onto the floor.
The level of insanity increases.
Equilibrium is ripped at the seams.
Reality is close to subliminal thought.
Normal is left defined as cryptic.
A series of emotions explode inside my head.
Trails of thoughts run through my heart.
Words are left inside,
Unspoken.
The world crashes down,
Falling apart.
I am melting, as skin melts away from the surface when it becomes intimate with fire.
Onto the floor I fall,
Becoming one with it until I am at the farthest possible point from the ceiling,
A total opposite, a parallel.
In an instant blood rushes from my fingertips with much force.
I am at the point where the pain is uncontrollable.
It forms a family around me,
Reproducing with each passing second.
On the brim of unconsciousness,
I hear the clock in the next room.
The ticking, the ticking,
It passes at intervals that seem like eternities.
I drift in and out of knowingness.
No longer am I capable of choosing my future,
Fate has already played its part.
I am bleeding uncontrollably,
All from the single paper cut.
