Artist's Description

Each bloom of this beautiful marigold on my balcony is different. Sometimes white and pale yellow, this one is pale yellow with orange tips. As if it had been sunbathing and got a touch of the sun.

I took some shots of it in a delicate green and blue glass vase. In this one it seemed to pose like a dainty ballerina.

In spring I planted a lot of seeds for edible flowers which developed to seedlings and now flowers on my balcony and am now enjoying the rewards.
I hope I’m not boring you with all these shots!

Dedicated to the source of my seeds: stadtlandblüht bought in DM who also sponsors bio seed charities.

Calendula (Calendula officinalis) – Also called Marigolds. A wonderful edible flower. Flavors range from spicy to bitter, tangy to peppery. Their sharp taste resembles saffron (also known as Poor Mans Saffron). Has pretty petals in golden-orange hues. Sprinkle them on soups, pasta or rice dishes, herb butters, and salads. Petals add a yellow tint to soups, spreads, and scrambled eggs. Only the petals are edible.
