Artist's Description

There is a new kid on the block or rather on my balcony: Cosmos bipinnatus, commonly called “garden cosmos” or “Mexican aster”.

Cosmos bipinnatus, commonly called the garden cosmos or Mexican aster,2 is a medium-sized flowering herbaceous plant native to Mexico. The species and its varieties and cultivars are popular as an ornamental plant in temperate climate gardens. It naturalized in scattered locations across North America, South America, the West Indies, Italy, Australia, and Asia, where it is a garden escape (introduced species) and in some habitats becoming a weed.

Paso Doble – Music and Dancing to match

I’ve discovered a new passion – not only photographing but also growing plants and flowers – and maybe eating them too:-) After years of permanent business travel I now spend enough time at home to grow plants that survive from week to week.

In spring I planted a lot of seeds for edible flowers which developed to seedlings and now flowers on my balcony and am now enjoying the rewards.

Not only do the look gorgeous and have a beautiful perfume, they are edible too.

Source of seeds: stadtlandblüht bought in DM who also sponsors bio seed charities.

Nikon D7200, Sigma 50 mm macro lens. High Key in Adobe CC with NikEfex.
Location: Balcony, Munich, Germany.

Feature – thank you to the host!
Today I am thankful for…
