Misty the Friendly Rainbow Dragon by Karin Taylor
On a cold winter’s day in amongst some decay
a flower was blooming despiting the glooming
the reason this was, was a specialist wasp
had appeared in New Year while downing a beer
He had a dilemma, a spot of distemper,
was running a fever, from flowers in season.
The wasp, it turns out, was allergic to pollen
he was into the business of flower propagation
The flower that bloomed, was a result of his business
Now tests could be run, nose to flower in distance
To see if he could indeed, grow up a flower
The pollenless kind, could invoke no such power.
The flower he grew, consisted of Shea
all the pollen was missing, but coconut stayed
and the scent of the coconut, way worse than the pollen
The scent sent him out of the forest in no time
The poor little flower, abandoned, yes orphaned
The wasp had no time for the little lone bloom
This was how Misty met Shea one wet morning
As Shea was all shivering, colder than ice
The tip of her nose dripped on Misty’s warm fire
It sizzled a little and Misty looked down
Misty looked down with a cute sort of frown
Wondering what could caused his fire to go out!
As Misty looked down, with a cute sort of frown
Shea looked right up with big eyes of blue-brown
Shea wasn’t afraid of the big blueish dragon
She was just cold and lonely, in need of some loving
From that moment on, a rainbow formed over them
And right to this day, they are highly inseparable!
