As an artist Karen loves humour and expressive paintings, and has been experimenting with oil painting and using pastels over the last ten years.

Karen has sold work nationally and internationally. Her most recent exhibition has been at the Parliament house in Brisbane.
She prefers to work from commissions, and loves to do portraits of humans and animals.

From 1994 to 2000, Karen studied Visual Art at Stanley Street Art College, and O’Halloran Hill Art College, where she specialised in Sculpture, Drawing and Painting.

In 2002, Karen attended further courses in drawing, and experimented with Bronze casting at the Norwood Central School of Art. Whilst living in Adelaide, Karen taught sculptural candle making at WEA and Adelaide University. Karen also experimented with natural fibre sculpture and exhibited her work as part of the Adelaide Fringe festivals.

Karen has been influenced by many artists including -Robert Hannaford, Vincent Van Gogh, Bill Leak, Toulouse-Lautrec, Margaret Olley, William Turner, and Matisse.
