Words of War

You write to me, careful words of the war,
laying them before me
line by line
like wounded soldiers,
like still-live mines

haunted – that for each, exhumed,
there are so many more

exhausted
by those who crawl from exile,
who whisper from grounds,
fallow,

by those,
who sleep-walk your marrow

You offer me, carefully, these reserved words
through an unexpected
opening door…

I am here. Feel my listening shore..

Let your words flow, let them free-fall
Let me come to know
all of you…

Come to me, let me
tenderly
kiss your core..
