Patience

Patience

That is her name she was given by a Mother driven
With the work of clay

To sculpt a child soft and perfect she had no good
Nature of delay

When the pains of birth began
She thought of a name with worth

As she waited and sat in a chair
Playing solitaire

She had the thought and the name patience she sought

She sat like a fly in ointment
Angered by the delay of
Her appointment

Back to her sculpture
Of clay she stated this is the day

Patience I had none
Now her birth is to be

I will give her what I need
She was the child so perfect
That looked back at her

I am driven to her name of Patience is now given.
