Sunset in Greece

We were in Greece high in the village
The steps to where we were are white
The doors red.

When he looked over his shoulder
Our eye’s locked my heart then clocked

Lost in that moment for he
Penetrated me through and through
I felt ambulant washed and clean

He came to me and said Kalonicty
A warm Greek meaning
Have you ever seen dysi iliou from there?
Pointing to the deep blue of the sea

Will you come with me and view the sunset?
I was in awe and in his eyes
I saw it is he the one for me.

Hand in hand we descended many a stair
As I watched the glint from the sun
In his hair

Now walking among shells on the shore
The dysi iliou had begun
The light of oranges blue violet
And growing gray and red at the horizon
The mist in the air
So cool and crisp the splash
Of the waves upon our feet

Shoes in hands he embraced me
It was then we kissed
The Greek sunset (dysi iliop) enveloped us

I will never forget he is Demetrious
And I Kalonicty
