I’ve never been a talkative person or very good at explaining myself to others so I let my art speak for me. With my hands I can write, draw, paint and sculpt all the ideas that pop into my head, I can let my mind wonder into places that even I can’t comprehend. I want my work to say the things I never could so that i’ll never have to. If the viewer doesn’t get it they’re free to walk away and it doesn’t change anything for me, but when they stop and they stare I know that there’s some part of me that has caught their attention. For me art is about control, about creating a situation were I’m in charge and I can say and do whatever I want. I don’t have to worry anymore about what anyone thinks of me, or if they understand. I can yell and scream without every having to open my mouth and that means the world to me. My artwork is everything I ever wanted anyone to know about me, everything I haven’t yet figured out about myself and every part of me I’ve tried to hide from. My art is everything to me because it is all of me, completely vulnerable and uncensored.
