Tears welled gracefully
In the corners of her green eyes
So big and glistening, long lashes black
Then tickled onto her cheek
While her lips remained firm
Pressed tightly
She raised one shaking hand
And gently wiped
Slender fingers paused for only a moment
How ironic the most endearing image
I have of her
Was when we said goodbye

That is beautiful Kalb…. Sad but beautiful…
So beautiful. So real.
That is very touching.
Great work Kalb, love the last few lines and what they do to the poem.
You can’t tell your brain what to remember, it decides for itself. It’s a lovely poem…
