Thelymitra crinita or Blue Lady Orchid – found in the bushland in Spring. One of the sun orchids, it will not open on cloudy days. It can grow to 70 cms tall, has a single, broadly oval shaped leaf, 5 to18 cm long and 2 to 4 cms across and flowers are arranged in a tall spike. Each flower has petals and sepals which are similar shape and a yellow tipped column crest. Spring Blooming. (information from Orchids of the South West- Dept Environ. & Conservation booklet).
