Caleb Is A Butt

There once was a man named Steven,
Whose beard made him look like a heathen.
He had a dear friend—
named Caleb—but then!
But then, came the time of The Shave.

They went in as men full of glee—
For Caleb, too, had a beard, you see.
But Caleb said, “Hey!
Let us shave them away.”
Right then on that fateful March day.

Thank god their mustaches remained;
For if they hadn’t, we would have been pained.
What would we have scratched?
For nothing else quite matched
The greatness of scratching their beards.

But low and behold the terror
Of a mustached bond broken forever.
Poor Steven it burned
When his Caleb returned,
His face completely clean-shaven.

A sillier piece written for my friend. Enjoy. xx

alternate final lines:

“His face as naked as his mom.” OR
“His face as bare as a butt.”

Needless to say I felt “His face completely clean-shaven” was more appropriate. ;]
