Kaia de Ocampo is an artist in Napa, California. Born and raised in Guam, Kaia developed his artistic talents in the lush, tropical pacific island and developed a yearning for the outdoors. The spiritual nature of the island was deeply ingrained in the environment and the local culture acknowledged this. In the shelter of the magnificent banyan trees, it is said the ancestors guard and protect the jungle.
Influences include Klimt, Schelie, Susan Seddon Boulet, Van Gogh, Leonardo, Andoid Jones, Alex Grey, H.R. Giger, Doze Green, Herikut and Chiara Bautista.
Kaia is involved in a variety of community service, local events and artistic projects. He has done live painting performances featuring eclectic and interpretative dance. He participated in several art projects at elementary schools in Berkeley. He often volunteers multimedia services for non profits. He conducts video projection mapping at events.
Kaia has always had a love for awesome art and a desire to capture a special moment. The ability to portray a beautiful landscape or someone’s personality on paper or screen seemed magical. Kaia has a Bachelors Degree in Applied Sciences (Motion Graphic Design Program) focusing on short form documentary, music video and motion infographics.
