Death and Rebirth

Help me! Help me!
I’m stuck in the hole,
This trap I’ve dug,
This grave I’ve dug,
For me.

It’s raining! It’s pouring!
Everyone’s snoring,
While I scream,
In my watery grave,
Help me!

Lightning! Thunder!
I’m going under!
Where are the people?
They’d be right there for me,
The liars.

The liars! The liars!
The water gets higher,
Where can they be?
Laughing at me,
I’m dead.

I’m soaring! I’m soaring!
But I’m on the ground,
I’m all around,
But I’m nowhere at all,
They call.

Shouting! Screaming!
They’re calling my name,
It’s no longer a game,
Somewhere I’m hating,
And fading.

Flying! Falling!
I’m the wings of the bees,
I’m the sway of the trees,
What is my name?
The rain.

Clouds! Lighting!
I’m rolling with thunder,
And cast asunder,
With the rain, with the sound,
All around.

Going down and down,
Falling on a face,
Some cold and lifeless face,
One without a name,
Except rain.

Artist's Description

I don’t even know where this came from. I guess I was just looking to narrate the possibilities of life after death and how the two (life and death) really tie together. There’s life all around us, even in the inanimate.
