Artist's Description

In the rural mountains of Portugal, whilst travelling I discovered this intriguing church that was incredibly old, and after having a look around, my attention was brought to the room named “El casa del ojos” or the “House of Bones”. After a few questions it became clear that due to poverty stricken times, there were no resources that the village could afford to build this room, and so decided to build it out of the buried priests that had served the church previously. So what you are seeing within the image are the bones and skeletons of all those who had served under god within this Portuguese church; kind of eerie don’t you think?
