Artist's Description

This kiln built in 1815 at Swinton, South Yorkshire was once part of a thriving pottery business, since it’s closure in 1842 it was converted to a dwelling with a door and windows being put in. In 1900 it was used as a smallpox isolation hospital for thirty years.
Then it went back to being a private house again for so long.
Hope you like it, I just love the shape of this building and it’s varied history!.
