Keep walking

Shadows don’t move with me
As I walk through the streets.
As I look down I face the sun’s echo
from the pavement underneath.
The street noise drowns out the thoughts of
Questions I don’t want to have to answer.
I prefer my consciousness to hang in polluted-mid-air
Neither staying nor going
Neither grounded nor proceeding
With my now shriveled up senses
Senses become heated by roadside barbeques
and pounded by flashing lights.
Reality is eaten up
By these flashing lies.
a soft hand has run over everyone
Discarding grimaces and passionate expression
Giving the feeling that we will all return to peace.
The blank face of each passer by is
a canvas for the city
To paint its latest streaks of colour.
The same soft hand
Which calmed passers by
Gently discards my questions
and encourages me
to keep walking.
Keep walking.

Keep walking
