Artist's Description

View of the historic Tampa Bay Hotel Museum at the University Of Tampa. The hotel was original built by railroad and shipping magnate, Henry B. Plant in 1981. It was a grand hotel, covering 150 acres and featuring Moorish style architecture, 511 luxury rooms, lavish gardens, hunting kennels, conservatories, a golf course, horse racing track, tennis, shuffle board courts, and a casino. The hotel closed in 1932 and became the home of The University of Tampa in 1933.
