Artist's Description

When your name is “Robin” and you are born in the 60’s you are automatically associated with Michael Jackson’s song “Rockin’ Robin” tweet, tweet, tweet…the energy of the tune conveyed my energy that was always active, but as a folkie I never identified with the “Rockin’” part when in the 70’s that meant Jimi Hendrix, Kiss and other bands/music that did not speak my heart, but
of course, it’s a lot better than “Robin Redbreast”….which was a moniker I hated.

This shot is pulled from a larger portrait done by my partner Dianne Joy who doesn’t have time to post all of her beautiful works. She is nice enough to allow me to play with those that move me and she is the ONLY PERSON EVER to take photos of me that I like.

Somehow, she is able to capture in a photo the person I am and the person I wanna be. What healing occurs to be known by another, to be really seen for who you are. She sees the best in me and joy grows, old wounds stop hurting. Life is good. I’m older now and I’m getting better at hiding my goat thanks to DJ’s advice. Finally, sitting in that rockin’ chair it fits, “Rockin’ Robin tweet, tweet, tweet….”

Rockin’ Robin

From a friend laughing about my love of the rocking chair comes this quote, “Life’s meaning and the presence of Spirit are found … in the memories evoked by a rocking chair…” Frederic & Mary Ann Brussat in “Spiritual Literacy”
