The Dream

A longing breeze settles into the night
Where the world seems so much brighter
Allowing dreams to soar in the moonlight
To rest in the courtyards of the king
Heading down beyond the castle walls
Lies a sandy beach welcoming the ocean in
And a small fishing village gathering food
For the knights and all who enter the gates
A lone ship sets sail under the starlit skies
In search for the lost treasure of Solomon
Somewhere deep within the ocean’s waves
Underneath the hollows of the midnight air
Soon an island appears, three steps until dawn
The crew launch their boats onto the rocky shore
Deep into the jungle lies the ruins of a castle keep
And somewhere in the midst rests Solomon’s Temple
Many traps were laid, cutting the crew down in size
Only a handful made it unto the temple doors
Where a sign laid above the entrance which reads
“Only the pure may enter beyond this threshold”
As I opened my eyes, it was morning
With the smell of fresh coffee brewing in the kitchen
Alas it had only been a dream
So real it made me to wonder
Is this truly the real world
Or am I now dreaming instead?
