Escape of the Past

Silent and still I lay in the night,
Explosions rang through my ears
Bringing to me the worst of my fears
The war had really come.
Now was the time to begin my flight,
If I ever wanted to see the morning light.
The war, I knew I had to flee
If I wanted to live life through
And as the soft wind gently blew, I knew
The war had eally come.
I began to slowly walk away
Prayiing for a better day
When the war would be past.
