THE PAINTER

A LEAF GROWN TOO LARGE SO IT FALLS
NESTLED IN THE WIND, NO CARES AT ALL
FLOATING GENTLY TO THE GROUND
ALMOST A MOTHER SHE HOLDS TEARS INSIDE
WE LOOKED BUT WE NEVER KNOW WHY
NO EXPLANATIONS TO BE FOUND
THE PAINTER HOLDS THE ANSWER IN HIS DREAMS
AND THEY ARE THE QUESTIONS OF REALITY
FAITH CAN DO MORE THAN IT EVER SEEMS
THE KEY TO THE HIDDEN DOORS OF SANCTUARY
THE WIND WRAPPED UP IN AWESOME SPLENDOR
PLOWS THE FIELDS AND THE FLOOR
AND I ASK WILL IT RETURN
A SELF PORTRAIT OF A MAN AT PEACE
A PICTURE OF HIM PAINTING NOTHING
AND I ASK WILL IT RETURN
