Where is god

“Where is God?”

God is in the water that cascades down the mountainside,
through the Glaciers, and across our nation.
As if flows into our ocean, and eventually back into our faucets.

“Where is God?”

God is in the first sound of a baby’s cry.
The moment of truth when after birth a mother waits anxiously
for that sound to echo through the room.
Signifying want, need, and love.

“Where is God?”

God is in the music that rings in the trees
as wind moves through branches.
In the way they dance on a hill in the middle of summer.
Bringing tranquility and grace.

“Where is God?”

God is in the perfection that is the human body.
The patchwork of cells, the mazes of veins, and the frameing of bone
that all work together in perfect harmony creating life.

“Where is God?”

God is in the rythm of a pencil on paper

in the flow of the thoughts that trickle out of your brain and into the realm of knowledge.
For without it there would be no spoken word,
no science, and no history to our world.

“Where is God?”

God is in our hospitals that heal our sick and wounded.
The clockwork of nurses, doctors, therapists, agents, EMT’s who will bring us life, save our lives, change our lives, and possibly be the only ones with us at the end of our lives.

“Where is God?”

God is in everything.
God is everywhere.
God is in you.

Where is god

Artist's Description

I wrote this after a shooting took place in Omaha Nebraska.
It was my response to my own question of “Now where was God?”
