LIBIDO

I once had a libido
I loved it like a friend
It had no name
But all the same
On it I could depend

It woke me in the morning
And brought me joy at night
It was hard to say
When in the day
It would turn on its’ little light

And then the world seemed brighter
My desire came back in view
My blood would course
Strong as a horse
My love I’d see anew

And now I lie and wonder
When it slipped away
Why did it go
I loved it so
Hope it comes back today

It did!
