Artist's Description

The White Cliffs was a major interpretive design project. At the beginning of the nineties a new purpose-built building was constructed directly on top of a Roman garrison site from the first century. A section of the archaeological remains were directly exposed within the new design. The main multi-media exhibition faciliy, which had three levels, was connected to the ajacent renovated Dover Museum which had remained in a dilapidated state since the second world war.
For me the commision to concept design and art direct the building of 30,000 square feet of multi-media immersive exhibitions was a fantastic and rewarding challenge. The White Cliff exhibition opened in 1992.
