Artist's Description

New Eddystone Rock, a granite spire of about 280 foot height, which dominates the approaches to the hidden majesty of Misty Fiord . First seen by the British explorer George Vancouver while searching (under instructions from the King) for the North West Passage in 1792.
Vancouver must have been there in better weather than us because he recorded having an enjoyable picnic on the rock with members of the local indian tribe.
This shot was taken from the relative luxury of a very wet tour out of Ketchikan in Alaska – using my Olympus E5 with a 14-35mm F2.0 Olympus zoom lens..
