Artist's Description

Stanier “Black Five” locomotive lit by evening sunshine. The “Black 5” was introduced in 1934 and was so successful that it continued to be built until 1951.
The “Black 5” locomotive was one of the most successful and popular steam locomotives ever developed, for British railways, and was a real “Jack of all Trades” being equally at home hauling passenger or freight trains.
Photograph taken with a Nikon D700 fitted with a 24-85mm Nikkor lend.
