The man walked straight into my house and proceeded to yell -
'you are to discipline your children! I have just heard one of them mimicking me!
I have it in my power to make life difficult for you, and for your family!'
and then he marched out and slammed the door
As it turned out it had not been my son doing the mimicking. It had been his best friend, a musical 11 year-old, who was staying with us for the weekend.
Nevertheless, from this day on, until the house was sold, this man and his grown-up children treated us like dirt.
The side of the house was used as a urinal. We were subjected to noise in the night. the kind of things that in normal circumstances might have lead to a call to the police.
when it came to selling the house, this man refused to grant an Easement because
he had 'had words with these people'
Words? The only one doing the yelling was an out-of-control senior diplomat. A pathologically narcisstic, ignorant, boorish oaf. And while there might be some people who lament that a man such as this should represent Australia to the rest of the world, there will be others who might feel that it is entirely appropriate that he should.
For fifteen years I have lived with the injustice of having been tried and condemned by the Aristocracy of this supposedly egalitarian society, and with the threats that this man made against my family.
So listen out for those words 'these people' they are being used prejoratively and the user will no doubt be a bigot.
