Artist's Description

This photograph was taken from within one of the buildings that comprise what remains of the Larundel mental asylum in Melbourne. Living in Tasmania, I have only been there once and will unlikely be able to visit again as the buildings are soon to be demolished to make way for a housing development. Follow this link for more information about this asylum:

In this paticular part of the building, it was very dark. The light in the passage was created by my friend’s camera flash, that we used to find our way around. It was lucky we did, as there was a big hole in the floor!

Camera: Canon EOS: 60D
Lens: Canon EF 10-22mm

Exposure times: 5 sec, 1.3 sec and 20 sec
F-stop: 8
ISO:400
Focal length: 10mm

Post-processing: Adobe photoshop CS3 and Topaz Detail 2
