the gardener

you say you know me, you knew me

you loved me you grew me

a seed planted in your mind until it blossomed a child

you say you know me the ins and out of me

you watched me spring forth uninhibited

a rare flower indeed

then cut short like a weed unwanted unwatered

my branches dry and withered without your love

you say you know me the fruit dosnt fall far from the tree

now I stare you in the face a challenge to the questions

you say you know me you dreamed me

yet you dont see me who I really am

what I became a wild flower

springing up from a crack in concrete

yet still I smell sweet

but beware my thorns

you say you know me my gardener tender and watchful

you sow the wild oats of you labours

bitter is the fruit while its still on the vine

you say you know me

the gardener
