The Tree Whose Past I’ve Always Known

The tree whose past I’ve always known,

Whose roots I’ve watched as they’ve grown,
Whose future I have helped to pave,
Whose seed the ground has had to crave.

Making through the winters brave,
It’s leaves in fall calmly wave.
Who’s grown so big I hardly see,
What started out so small to me.

This tree runs deeper than the sea,
At the sight of it I feel so free.
It’s strength I know nothing could endure
For this tree is more than all secure.

It’s roots run through the ground so pure
And latch onto the earth so sure.
On this tree I can always rely
Because comfort it will forever supply.
