Artist's Description

Spitfire LFIX MK356 dipping its wing at Elvington, North Yorkshire, England. First saw service with the Royal Canadian Air Force at RAF Digby, Lincolnshire, in March 1944. Flew its first combat mission on14 April 1944, later involved in the D-Day invasion before ending its WWII career after its 3rd wheels up landing on 14th June 1944.The plane now flies as part of the RAF BBMF.
