Artist's Description

Another in my fun smoke series.

How did I do it?
I shot all my smoke pictures with my Nikon D3000 and Nikor 60mm macro lens and used a tripod.

I used incense to create my smoke. I place them about one foot away from my black velvet background and then placed my off camera flash about 2 inches in front of the smoke, between the camera and the smoke. The flash was pointing up.

My camera settings: f25, 1/200 and an iso of 400.

Next I used camera raw to bump up the blacks and clarity and put them in Photoshop CS6, where I created layers to make symmetrical images and changed opacities so you can see through everything. Colors were added in different layers.
