Life runs at an eratic pace
Lives go on with indecent haste
Careering off to who knows what
Often forgeting just what we have got
Till a day arrives all dull and grey
Just like the day you went away
Gone before we knew what why or how
Ambulances, helicopters and hospital gowns

Fighting so grimly to save your life
Surgeons no time to start with a knife
You were gone, gone from our days
School friends, relatives, all wandering through a haze

Our last view of your beautiful face
Was as a holden Hero, but in a strange place
Never again will we see your smile
Watch you grow or try your “style”
For the world is a sadder place
Without your light , determination and grace.

But every time i look into the sky
Watching as a cloud floats on by
I know thats where you’d rather be
Up there flying
