She and me

i have tred upon sands of
foreign lands
immersed crystal blue seas
that restored me
climbed purple mountains
been baptized in veiled fountains
fed upon herbs and roots
that sundered my truth
threw shadows of dance on walls
as birth to death I crawled
made peace with stars
mended brittle soul scars
bathed in holy rain
we two wept about my pain
felt the mother hold from beneath
mother’s jilted scribbles upon this sheath
awoken by velvet fur
and a slinky silky purr
comforted embrace
by a pug’s endearing face
heard the shrieking baboon
tolling bells to the moon
felt the thunder of the bulls
pound away a jaded cool
soared impossible above the earth
with brother eagle’s daily birth
twisted friendship jewels
with shale and seaweed tools
held tight to mammoth backs
as African elephants made tracks
heard the calling of the past
through a roosters astounding blast
slept beneath the silver moon
oh sleep, drawn too soon, too soon
disguised a winters sleep
with honey sun from head to feet
clung to dolphin, sleek and sheer
knew there was nothing I had to fear
sadness to think these miracles might not be
around for our children’s children here to see
we manufacture, we create
a mere parody of nature’s template
our cars are not horses
soiled trails leave no recourse’s
precious oceans we augment
with sadness, often lent
from technology, advancement,
our virtual enchantment
touch the earth, feel the sky
let your soul, your spirit fly
dance the dance, let it be
the earth, the world,
the planetary.
