Fallen Pride

Things fall out of the sky
Slitting your wrist then you die
Bleeding trees water to grow
Showing the lies in which you told
The stars of the night sparkle and gleam
And nothing is ever what it seems
Who you were was not what you said
Clear as night vision when you’re dead

Tell the truth don’t deceive
Don’t pretend to grieve
The hearts you’ve broken
Sliver token after token
Not to ever be whole
Like cereal in a milk-less bowl

The damage is done without repair
The lives you’ve touched in despair
The devil your friend the angel turns a back
Glowing are the things you lack
Your social self no more and so less
A snake of lies had you bless
The truth vine wraps around your neck
You lack total self respect
Who cares if you live
For you always take and never give

No one cares for your plight
The death of you makes hope bright
For others will see you have fallen
The bees will not take nectar to carry your pollen
For they’ll buzz and fly and make honey sweet
There are better people than you to meet
Six feet below your bones and skin decay
People will forget you by the end of the day
The world will continue to turn nonstop
As your persona starts to rot

The damage you’ve done continues to burn
In the game it’s now forever skip your turn
I hope the smile you had when other’s died
You keep as you heal from the fall of pride

Artist's Description

This is about a person who doesn’t seem to get it and I think the only way he ever will is when he hits the bottom hard. Very hard.
