Jim Plaxco is a digital artist creating abstract, algorithmic, astronomical, cityscape, generative, landscape, portrait, and space art. Much of the digital art that Jim produces is created using art software of his own design. Jim’s work has appeared in textbooks and has been used as cover art as well as having been flown in space. He has judged space art contests for NASA, NSS, and the IAA. Jim is available for art commissions and as a guest lecturer/instructor.

“As a digital artist I do not subscribe to the proposition that an artist should confine themselves to one subject and style. The versatility of the digital medium should be explored, not ignored. To further add uniqueness to my digital art, much of the art I create is created using graphic software of my own design.”

A selection of Jim’s photographic works can be viewed at Jim Plaxco Photography and a selection of his art can be viewed at Artsnova Digital Art Gallery

Areas of Specialization include alternative portraiture, algorithmic art, computer-generated imagery (cgi), generative art, photography, digital image processing and astronomical image processing.
