Perdition

Overly starched collars and silent eyes on a packed carriage
Brief cases padlocked shut, joined with high heels in marriage
They don’t even touch anymore, thinking that would serve no purpose
Clowns with painted faces, can’t separate life and circus

Nervous now, a highly routined, maintained and scheduled procedure
Purpose proud, poster reads “this illusion’s all we need, sure!”
Brows furrowing over bureaucracy, this is a poison not a cure
but with the devils insight blocking unity light, cold comfort’s an easy lure

but who else does this creature turn to? the faithless or the frauds?
It’s religion is it’s commerce, pope or chairman of the board
this great leader of high industry fucks his assistant, he controls this
but to help the families of the state is his great foretold wish

poor old bitch smiling wearily as her nose is filled with whore-scent
he spouts mundanities and tips his glass to make reality more bent
it seems his spores went and spawned many such men in mint condition
accept the gain of pains and change, avoid his cold perdition
