Jeffrey Hamilton

Surry Hills, Australia

So I am now over 65 and I feel I have finally hit my stride, though there is still a stretch ahead. Born and lived all my life in Sydney,...

I am a professional stained glass artist, with particular skills in glass painting and restoration. I spent 3yrs training under Stephen Moor in Strathfield, Sydney, and have been in private practice since 1982.

I’ve maintained an on-line portfolio since 2000 (, kept up an active exhibiting program, and have been published in several overseas and Australian magazines, including Craft Arts International(issue 30, pp31-36), Australian Country Craft & Decorating (V18 No11, pp72-75) and Glass Craftsman (no.189 pp8,9).

A detail of my 2009 window for St Bede’s Catholic Church, Pyrmont has been featured on the front cover of the Summer 2011 issue of Stained Glass Quarterly Magazine!

My obsession is glass, but equally I have a passion for works on paper, found object and assemblage, photography (what artist can ignore the splendid sights that assault the eye every day?) and from about 2005 – 2012 took to painting on large building hoardings in the street -originally as ’’Skribe’’ then “jhammos”. There may be another foray out in the street but for now its all studio work.

I’m an old dog, but still learning new tricks :-)

Here’s my website
