another by Ben Frost, appeared in the fire escape just last week (late Dec 09). The building is located in Elizabeth St, downtown Sydney. Ben is a resident but vehemently denies being a “graffiti artist” :)

hey thank you for sharing Ben Frost, great stuff! Glad you could find some to photograph, great shot!
yeah cheers Jeff.. there are quite a few pieces of Ben’s about.. soem I didn’t even realise were his; I was showing him the calendar I’d made when we were having a Christmas drink (He’s my neighbour in Hibernian House) and he exclaimed “hey that’s one of mine!”
How cool to have such an artist and creative being as a Neighbour!
yeah, you’re right, it is! lots of creatives in the building: Numskull has a space there, Pauly G, alias Duckman, Crèon, Anthony Lister hangs out there when he’s in Sydney (tho we’ve not met), John Doe, KidZoom lots of other Uber cool people, it really is a focal point for sydney’s underground art scene, always changing but always the same
Congrats on this find and wonderful capture..terrific that we have this excellent artist’s name…please add Sydney to your notes Gena
thanks so much for the feature; appreciate you looking thru my portfolio.. that shot was taken a while back now. not sure what you meant by “please add Sydney..” there is a broken link in your msg. I guess you’re talking about my text accompanying the image, right?
Great work, love Beuys-he has to be one of the greatest artists of the last century.period. :-)
yeah, cheers Mark… I didn’t get Beuys for a long time, thought he was totally pretentious, but the more I nderstand his work the more I agree with you. this piece is long gone now, tho’ it did stay intact for a good few months. The building has just had a makeover, very presentable outside, clean walls mostly inside now, but the roof space is still a great graf gallery
