Artist's Description

Jewelweed is an annual plant native to North America that grows in moist to wet soils. This one grows at the edge of a swampy wetland in the mountains of North Carolina, USA in Macon County very near The Little Tennessee River as it passes through the small town of Franklin. It is also called Orange Jewelweed, Common Jewelweed, Spotted Jewelweed, Orange Balsam, or Forget-me-nots.
