Artist's Description

Common Milk Treefrog (Trachycephalus venulosa) from Barrio Espania, Santa Cruz, Bolivia

Milk Frogs or Goldeneye Frogs are known for the toxic milky “glue” they secrete when threatened or attacked.

This particular species, the Common Milk Treefrog seems to be quite adaptable since I have found it both in the city of Santa Cruz, Bolivia and more rural parts of the country. I found this particular frog in the backyard of the house I lived in while in Santa Cruz.
