Minions of the Dark

I never knew it was coming
A dark ominous cloud passing overhead,
It’s minions like torrets of icy rain,
Screaming, screeching, flying down upon my unswashed, bitter face,
Pulling and scratching at my vunrable mind.
Do this, do that.
Leap, fly, scream, cry.
Round and round,
A neverending carousel.
We get faster and faster.
Life is a blur.
No wrong or right.
And there they are,
Prying into my thoughts,
With little bony fingers,
Brittle shattered wood.
A thousand opal eyes.
Contorting my mind.
Reversing my view.
And the clouds are back.
Darker than before.
An army of dismay,
Catapulting giant black rounds of swirling bitterness at my shrinking warmth,
My dying heart.
I cry out into the darkeness,
Tears of red streaming down my cheeks.
