Artist's Description

The AMO Within, October 2010.
This piece is a stained glass mosaic measuring (3ft tall x 5ft long). I had 2 challenges or goals in mind when setting out on this piece. I wanted to include in the construction, every glass technique I have learned to this point in my career. The second was to somehow mosaic energy and feeling, whimsical living emotion.
The easier of the two first: In reference to glass techniques I am speaking of specific procedures one applies to achieve different media (glass) effects. This encompasses a range of tools used to manipulate glass and also to change it. There are cuts, snips, breaks, snaps, grinded edges, fused glass, acrylic paint & spray paint under glass and ink under windshield glass.
As for energy and feeling, whimsical living emotion… That part is up to you. In the end I am very happy with the media effects and balance in this piece. I wanted to communicate love and passion by producing a true human portrait of emissions. I wanted you to put your quantum goggles on and view the person beyond the label, under the skin and even deeper than blood and bone. I wanted you to see the living essence, the wonderful and mighty potential for good in every soul.
