Artist's Description

Hati and Chile recently had an earthquake near them that produced an tsunami. A quarter million people lost their lives in Haiti and thousands within the boarders of Chile. Many people were washed out to sea, got buried alive, had a building collapse upon them or suffered tremendous pain and misery. Thousands of children experienced hard core trauma, went into shock, lost their entire families or worse. On top of that some people kidnapped infants, children or youth for the slave trade marketers.

It’s pretty hard to imagine the reality, circumstances or situations derived from such an event. I meditated, grieved and prayed over those events in order to address my emotions. Such catastrophic disasters stirred my imagination, feelings, thoughts and desire to express myself externally in hopes of finding peace. One of those results was to post this portrait and statement as a reminder to our blessings, safety plus protected loved ones. A man with no shoes saw another with no feet!

May God bless you with safety and health, Jerry Stith
