Bite Me not, Forget Me Not

Bite me not, my sweet
I lie in darkness barely breathing
Waiting for the sliding
steps that alert me to your approach
as your feet
draw near
it is my fear
which pins me to my sheet
I want to scream
out loud and bravely say,
“Forget me not, forget me not”
Can’t help that I am dead
And you, my dear darling,
have been willing to say
it was my fault

Bite me not,
for then will be the truth exposed
t’was your own deed
that put me here
i took your lead
and followed you into that car lot
a set up, a deception, a lie
and now i am dead
my vision comes in infra red
it is dark as the lining
of my cape here
but you glow with the heat
of a furnace
your sweaty face
gives you away

Bite me not, forget me not
My body won’t rot, that is my lot
you peer at me with this tearful look
and fear, you fear me, i see
bite not the one you love
gentle caress, sleep on my breast
rest with me, rest with me
forget me not, bite me not

Bite Me not, Forget Me Not
