The original concept for this image was to have a car moving from headlights in the distance into clear sight in the foreground while transitioning between two different times of day. I later decided to expand that to three different times of day and you can see the results.

This was one hard piece to put together. I used three different backgrounds taken in the afternoon, twilight and night (respectively). I then took images of the car at those three different times at different places on the road and blurred them together mainly using the blur and smudge tools. The shadow of a person on the left is there intentionally but I did originally think of taking it out. However, this image was in a series dealing with the theme of a journey and I thought the shadow of a person added a nice emotional element to the picture.

I’m pretty proud of how this one turned out. Let me know if you think so too.
